The History Le legend tells that Henry Ford was the inspirer of the creation of the golf course in Venice. Ford was a regular visitor on Lido with other magnates and celebrities of the times, and he had to renounce to his passion during the stay in Venice. Conte Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata, whom Henry Ford confided his dismay, in 1928 started the works for the realization of the first 9 holes around an ancient Austrian fortification still on site. The work’s director was the architect Crukshankche. The inauguration was celebrated in 1930. After the Second World War , following the growing attention and passion for the golf ,the Club decided to enlarge the course with other 9 holes, for a total of 18 for a difficult par 72. This time the project was realized by the architect C.K.Cotton.
