The Monastery of San Nicolò

The monastery adjoining the XVII century Church of San Nicolò was founded in 1053 by Benedectine monks. It underwent radical transformation around 1500. The Renaissance cloister with well-curb in the middle dates back to 1530, while only one wing remains of the XIV century cloister. There is still a trace of the ancient abbey in the restructuring to be seen in the form of a Gothic palazzo with a Renaissance open gallery.
