S.Maria Elisabetta The Church of S.Maria Elisabetta, built in the XVII century in place of the XVI century Oratory and once almost bordering on the Lagoon, now overlooks, with its simple facade, the Square of the same name. The one-naved interior has four XVII century side altars and numerous altarpieces. The XVIII century organ and a XV century Austro-Bohemian type sculpture depicting the Pietà, one of the earliest works of art on the Lido, are both worthy of note. Not far away stands the votive Temple with its large dome. It was built in the Thirties to fulfil a vow made by the Venetians, since the city had survived the 1915-18 war; today it’s a Military Memorial Church.
